Veterans, their families and advocates can attend a veterans information day and claims clinic on Wednesday, April 27, at the Somerset County Human Services Building, Somerville.
Both programs will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the first-floor conference room at 27 Warren St. Free parking is available on the third floor and above in the elevator-equipped parking deck next to the building; the entrance to the deck is off Veterans Memorial Drive.
The Information Day is being hosted by the county Office of Veterans Services in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the state Veterans Administration Health Care System and the state Department of Labor.
Veterans, their families and survivors, and organizations and individuals who work with or on behalf of veterans, are invited to share information, hear feedback and get answers to questions about Veterans Administration benefits, including compensation, pension, insurance, loan guaranty, vocational rehabilitation and employment, and education-benefit programs.
The claims clinic will allow veterans to talk with VA representatives about their individual disability claims. In many cases, problems are resolved on the spot.
